Holy mother of... WOW! I just watched the very last episode of ALIAS, and it was mindblowing. I don't know if that's positive or not, not yet. Everytime I watch the final episode of a show I feel so sad. First Sex and the City, where they managed to end it appropriately and in a very satisfying way. Then The OC, a pop culture phenomenon that lost track after the first season but came back to its roots much too late in the wonderful fourth season, that made up for all the mistakes the series had made. The introduction of Taylor Townsend aswell as the focus on lighthearted comedy and drama made me much sadder to let the show go. Then Gilmore girls, where a lighthearted episode concluded a magnificent but sometimes bumpy seven year- run. Then of course my all-time fave Veronica Mars, a show that ended much too soon. But I couldn't have imagined a better ending for this show. Other fans were disappointed because they thought some things were left unsolved, but I think that was the writers' duty. I don't think it's good to end a show with explaining everything to the audience. Conclusion is good, but there should be room for the viewer's imagination. I'd like to imagine myself where Veronica is headed, who won the election and so on... And now ALIAS. I don't know what to say. I am trembling right now. The five seasons of the show are playing in my head and I can't believe it's over now. I have to take some time to think about it and reminisce about old episodes. All in all I am glad that the last season was so good, I think it is definitely on par with season one and not much worse than season two, but I just can't make up my mind about the finale. Never to watch a fresh episode of this incredible series again is so heartbreaking... it was so different than other shows I watch.
Well, now all I've got left is Heroes, a show that will most likely conclude its contracted and anticipated seven year-run and that I'm really content with right now (Kristen Bell is starring, what else could I say?). Also Grey's Anatomy, a drama that constantly manages to surprise me and offers high quality entertainment, in its fourth season much more than anytime before IMO, there's always Desperate Housewives, a show that rose again and is now back at the top of its game, and both shows will likely run for many years to come, at least they'll finish their respective seventh seasons. Nip/Tuck is also regaining old strength and blows my mind every week anew; it rejuvenated itself successfully by changing the setting, and I'm enjoying it more than ever before. 30 Rock is the second sitcom after The Golden Girls (yet another show which already ended) which I religiously love with all my heart. A show that expects its viewers to be intelligent and in return gives them the best comedy they've ever seen. I've never watched an episode of it that didn't make me laugh out loud, and let me say, I'm not the type of person who laughs out loud very often during shows! Gossip Girl is a show that I discovered this season, and though I didn't entirely warm up to it yet I give it some time. It's a guilty pleasure and one just can't help but watch it, right?
Well, I guess I have to try to catch up on new shows... But I can already say one thing about them; I'll be sad when they end. TERRIBLY sad.
